At Queen Mary University of London, we support student enterprise and entrepreneurship in a variety of ways. The Careers & Enterprise Centre has a dedicated Student Enterprise team who run a programme of activity to support the development of entrepreneurial skills and new venture creation. Students can access one to one appointments as well as a variety of workshops and events, such as Venture Crawl and GradVenture.
In addition, we offer three programmes to accelerate our students’ entrepreneurial journey:
QHacks, weekends of high-energy, fun, intensive opportunities to learn how to get businesses off the ground, meet other entrepreneurial students and quite possibly by the end of it launch their own business.
QIncubator, an 8-week term time entrepreneur-led programme, which combines enterprise training, expert coaching and peer learning to provide a testing ground for projects at idea-stage and early-stage. 120 founders have graduated from QIncubator since 2018.
QAccelerator, the new two-week intensive summer programme designed to support growing businesses in scaling their ventures. The programme includes business training, expert support and mentoring to build a sustainable growth strategy.
In collaboration with Santander, we also runs seed fund competitions for students and recent graduates, awarding up to £10,000 to develop high potential ideas. Our alumni entrepreneurs include Jamie Crummie with Too Good To Go App and Olga Kravchenko with Musemio
